Tired of the fear of falling holding you back?

Flight Crew is a team of climbers curious about the fear of falling. Supported by each other, we'll take the time to understand what fear is, and how it presents individually. With that foundation, we'll then explore techniques to keep our stress level in the growth zone, whether it's neither too low for progress or so high that it leads to regression. Fall practice can then built in to that growth zone, focusing on adapting to your needs on any given day, or climb. This clinic also includes soft catching skills and conversations around creating a supportive environment with your partners. Finally, we leave with a plan to continue practicing on your own.

What you'll learn:

  • Basics of the nervous system. What is fear?

  • Self awareness around your fear response

  • Understanding how life stress factors into climbing

  • Tools to keep your fear response manageable

  • Practice falling

  • Dynamic (soft) catching

  • Being a supportive belayer

  • Foundation for lifelong practice
